The Permanent Workshop of Musical Interpretation (Atelier Permanent d'Interprétation Musicale, APIM) arises from a rigorous preparation process that explores a wide diversity of pedagogical experiences and resources. This takes the form of a unique space, reserved for studying in-depth the inner workings of instrumental technique, essentially focusing on the interpretation of contemporary music. Brought together around the pivotal figure Jean-Pierre Dupuy, a select group of artists and teachers has been formed whose main ambition is to share their need to live this music to the full with their students, by means of a living, learning experience, an approach quite different to the ones traditionally adopted by enterprises such as this.
The Permanent Workshop of Musical Interpretation is addressed to all those musicians who wish to share a time that is special, while discovering and learning to perfect individual discipline. Structured around the personality of each participant, the student finds a catalyst for his or her emotional, physical and intellectual planes. Individual creativity is thus able to manifest itself, through music, as Art.
The Permanent Workshop of Musical Interpretation is open to pianist, as well as soloists, established chamber groups, or those that form spontaneously between members attending the Workshop, and singers who bring a personal pianist, though, if required, the Workshop can provide accompaniment.
The Permanent Workshop of Musical Interpretation is present in: Madrid, Barcelona, Paris and the Principality of Andorra. Classes take place throughout the year, at times and schedules suited to the specific needs of each student.
Teacher : Jean-Pierre Dupuy : Piano / Chamber music.
The Música Studio teaching staff guarantees quality professional training and advanced courses with study programmes that run over 3 trimesters. (Depending on demand, July and September may also be included in a complementary fashion).
The mission of the Workshop: providing access to true artistic study and training musicians, who are already proficient in the culture of music and its techniques, in preparation for a personal or professional project.

This is a group course.
The course is structured in 12 sessions of 3 hours each all are given to a single group without limit to the number of students. It has been specifically designed so that any differences in level, instruments or origins do not become an obstacle, but rather help generate a very enriching synergy. No distinction is made between active students and students in the audience. All that is required is the active participation of group members, in a spontaneous and voluntary fashion.
Understanding and interpreting the music of today is a learning concept that attempts to help students and teachers from all disciplines understand contemporary music, no matter what instruments they play. Based on practical examples designed to stimulate creativity among the students, it deals with, among others, the following questions, in an open and direct manner:
This discipline is considered to be an essential part of a professional musician’s training. Jean-Pierre Dupuy leads an improvisation workshop once a week, for all instruments.
The course is structured in 12 sessions, each one lasting 3 hours. The course is also open to instrumentalists who are not necessarily enrolled with Música Studio, and may participate in one or several classes.
These are reserved for students who take the annual course, to give them the chance refine their concert programmes. A pre-concert structure has been organised, giving each interpreter the opportunity to perform before an audience and take part in amicable meetings with musical colleagues and important figures from the world of music.
This activity does not involve any kind of expenditure for the interpreter, as the entire event is organised by Música Studio.

Música Studio presents a Master’s degree in the Interpretation of Contemporary Music after completing 2 years worth of courses. An evaluation audition is held in Paris, Barcelona and Madrid every year, before a highly qualified jury, to assess the level of studies attained over the previous year. This evaluation is based on continuous control and leads to a certificate that considers the regularity, involvement and competence of the student. The prerequisites and fees are available on request.
